NO LOCKDOWN in UAE regardless of the COVID-19 variant

The New Covid-19 variant called Omicron is continuously spreading its infection worldwide. Due to the emerging numbers of victims, some cities imposed city-wide lockdowns.

Travel regulations have become stricter since the UAE is hosting different international events, forums, and exhibitions.

According to an interview with Bloomberg TV with His Excellency Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade in UAE, there is an assurance that there will be no lockdown in the country.

“Omicron is way less impactful than the delta and even during delta, we haven’t locked down the country. The balance has been there throughout the omicron for sure and with any future variants when it comes to corona,” he said.

During the interview, His Excellency stated that “the world cannot continue with this lockdown. We have to come back to the norm ASAP.”

He firmly added too that “We will not go back to the full lockdown of the country.”
