Denmark is the first country in EU to lift COVID-19 restrictions

The use of facemasks and health passes in Denmark ended on Tuesday. Denmark was the first country in Europe to remove COVID-19 restrictions.

According to Danish Health Minister Magnus Heunicke on his interview with CNN “No one can know what will happen next December. But we promised the citizens of Denmark that we will only have restrictions if they are truly necessary and we’ll lift them as soon as we can.”

“It’s around 30 people in ICU beds right now with a COVID-19 diagnosis, out of a population of 6 million,” Søren Brostrøm, director-general of Denmark’s Health Authority told CNN.

The health official said they no longer push for mandatory vaccination.
