Abu Dhabi restaurant closed for selling non-halal food, violating regulations

A restaurant in Abu Dhabi has been closed down by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (Adafsa) for selling non-halal food and using the same equipment and tools for both non-halal and halal food preparation.

Adafsa stated that the restaurant’s actions violated relevant laws and posed a health risk to the public. The restaurant, named Birat Manila Restaurant and located in Mussafah area, will be permitted to resume operations once it obtains the necessary permits for selling non-halal food and after undergoing thorough equipment changes and premises sterilization.

Adafsa emphasized that all food establishments in Abu Dhabi are regularly evaluated and urged the public to report any violations to their toll-free hotline.
